The FIFA World Cup only comes around once every four years, and some of the best moments happen when you’re watching alongside other fans. The chants, the celebrations, and the collective gasp when a shot hits the post are all part of the experience.

Text the group chat and start making match day plans. Downtown Sacramento is showing up for the World Cup all tournament long with watch parties and places to catch every match across the city.

Where to Watch the World Cup Downtown:

Sac Republic FC Block Party
If you’re looking for peak soccer energy, start here. This is the place to be if you want to experience the excitement with hundreds of fellow soccer fans.

Bear & Crown
Take a stroll through the Old Sacramento Waterfront, then post up for the match with a pint in hand. Riverfront charm and World Cup action make for a pretty great combination.

Casa Blue
Located near the heart of K Street, it’s an easy spot to meet up before kickoff.

Cilantro’s Mexican Restaurant
Good food, a lively atmosphere, and a World Cup match on the screen.

Fanny Ann’s Saloon
Historic Old Sacramento and World Cup soccer make a pretty great pairing. Post up at Fanny Ann’s and soak in the neighborhood’s charm while cheering on your team.

La Cosecha by Mayahuel
Patio vibes, live music, and a match day watch party? That’s a summer evening done right.

Mayahuel
Come hungry and stay for the match. Great food and World Cup soccer make for a pretty solid game plan.

Polanco Cantina
Want to be in the middle of it all? Catch the match while soaking up the energy of Downtown Commons city views,

Tom’s Watch Bar
If your goal is finding a screen, Tom’s has plenty of them. With wall-to-wall TVs and a crowd that’s there for the game, you’ll never miss a moment. Plus, catch a view of Conti Kolokotronis as he live streams all 104 World Cup matches throughout the tournament.

Tipsy Putt
Challenge your friends to a round of mini golf before kickoff, then keep the friendly competition going while you cheer on your team.

Make Some Match Day Memories in Downtown

Some of the best World Cup memories aren’t just the goals or final scores. They’re the moments spent celebrating with strangers, debating calls with friends, and jumping out of your seat when your team finds the back of the net.

Hot dogs, brews, and baseball season are officially back and part of the downtown Sacramento agenda. If you’re heading to an A’s game, let this be your guide for keeping the fun going before first pitch and long after the final inning.

Downtown Sacramento gives you options depending on the kind of game day you’re trying to have. Maybe that looks like rooftop cocktails and happy hour in DOCO, grabbing tacos and drinks before walking to the stadium, or strolling through Old Sacramento for a bite and a little post-game nightlife. Your whole evening is basically set up for you within a mile radius.

Happy Hour & Pregame Bites

Cabana Club: Upscale cocktails paired with a classic hot dog? Honestly, say less. This spot feels fun, a little playful, and very baseball-season coded.

Polanco Cantina: Tacos, margaritas, patio seating, and enough energy to kick the night off right before heading to the stadium.

Yard House: Happy hour and wings before the game just makes sense. Bonus points for the endless beer selection.

Tom’s Watch Bar: No tickets? No stress. Over 80 TVs means you’re still catching every inning surrounded by fellow sports fans.

Hot Dog on a Stick: A hot dog and lemonade before a baseball game feels almost mandatory.

Post-Game Drinks & Late Night Vibes

Fanny Ann’s Saloon: A Sacramento classic for post-game burgers, drinks, and recapping every play like you’re on the coaching staff.

Darling Aviary: Rooftop drinks after the game just hit different. Great views and enough energy to keep the night going.

La Terraza: Grab a drink outside and keep the waterfront stroll going after the stadium crowds clear out.

Parkside: Easygoing in the best way. Grab a post-game drink and settle into the downtown crowd while the night’s still going strong.

Sweet Treats & Pick-Me-Ups

IT’SUGAR: Candy galore. Build yourself the ultimate game day snack lineup.

RareTea: A boba run before or after first pitch honestly never misses.

Ululani’s Hawaiian Shave Ice: Nothing hits like a warm Sacramento game day quite like shave ice while walking around Old Sac.

Shopping & Game Day Extras

Urban Outfitters: Need a last-minute outfit refresh before heading out? This is your stop.

CardVault by Tom Brady: You sports fans are definitely going to want to spend some time in here checking out the memorabilia and collectibles.

Phenom: Pull up for the latest sneaker drops, streetwear, and game day fits before heading to the ballpark.

This holiday season, Old Sacramento Waterfront turns shopping into a game with the Small Business Spree Bingo Card. It’s your chance to explore more than 150 locally-owned businesses, discover unique gifts, make memories with family and friends, and win prizes, like a family four-pack of tickets to the Polar Express Train Ride in 2026, all while supporting the heart of our community.

Shopping small is more than finding great gifts. It’s about building connections. Every time you visit a local shop, you meet people who bring creativity and passion to what they do. You share stories, support dreams, and help keep downtown vibrant.

These moments build a community; they make our city stronger and more connected. Choosing local means investing in Sacramento’s character and creating memories that last long after the holidays.

How It Works

You can pick up your Bingo card at the Visitors Center, after a Polar Express ride, or at the Old Sacramento Waterfront booth during Holidays on K Street, then stroll through Old Sacramento’s historic streets. Each square is an opportunity to check someone off your list with the help of small business owners who value the experience of helping you find the perfect gift.

Once you complete a purchase, you’ll collect a stamp from each business you visit. Check the map for exclusive stamp locations. If you’re doing an experience, snap a photo and show it at the Visitors Center (weekdays) or Holidays on K booth (weekends). Complete your card, and you’ll be entered to win the ultimate prize: a family four-pack of tickets to the Polar Express Train Ride in 2026

Ways to Win

The more squares you complete, the bigger the prize!

  • Bingo: Five in a row (vertical, horizontal, or diagonal)
  • Railroad: All perimeter squares
  • X: Two diagonal lines
  • Blackout: Every square filled

Submit a photo of your completed card by December 31, 2025 to info@oldsacramento.com. Winners will be chosen at random and announced in January 2026

Make It a Day

Turn your bingo stroll into a full holiday outing. Start at the Old Sacramento Waterfront Visitors Center to grab your Small Business Spree Bingo Card, then head into the festive streets.

Follow your card as a guide to discover gifts for everyone on your holiday list. Pick up sweet treats at Mad Hatter Donuts, find local artisan treasures at Atrium 916, and pause for coffee at Blueprint Coffee before checking off your next square.

When you’re ready for a break, enjoy a cozy meal at Railroad Fish & Chips or make it special with dinner at The Firehouse Restaurant. If you’re visiting from Friday to Sunday, you can end the day under the glow of the Theatre of Lights show.

Ready to Play?
